Raise your hand if you feel like you have zero motivation to get anything done? You’d rather laze around and watch your favourite series on Netflix or do nothing at all? Let me tell you, it’ definitely gets the best of us! But how do we get ourselves out of this and actually find the motivation to keep on goin’?
It’s not easy.
Of course there are going to be days where you don’t want to get a single thing done and then suddenly you have a whole list things you need to do and start to panic.
Well, at least try and not panic! Eventually, it’ll all fall into place but you have to stay motivated – regardless of the task!
I know that sometimes you may not want to do a particular task. Unfortunately, you gotta! That’s where your motivation may feel a little low or lack thereof.
So how do you actually get motivated to get S**T done?
How To Stay Motivated and Get S**T Done!
1. Get yourself a planner
I used to think planners were silly and that I’d never use one. Truth be told I was wrong.
Planners can really help you to start to become motivated. There are so many wonderful, awesome and elaborate planners to choose from.
Honestly, you don’t need the best of the best. You only really need a simple planner to help you start heading in that motivational direction.
I use the Bloom Daily Planner in leopard print and it seriously is awesome. I carry it everywhere I go!
I am able to plan everything for Hello Tegan, as well as write down my visions and goals. Bloom planners are really wonderful and incredibly simple to use.
By using my planner it helps me to create a plan for my blog and it makes me actually feel motivated to get everything done.
Sure, you don’t have to have a planner – but they really do help in the long run and I promise they’re not boring or scary to use.
2. Create a goal and/or vision
Do you want to learn how to crush your goals? Click here!
Create an end goal and/or vision for your task (or whatever it is that you may be doing).
By creating goals and vision it helps you become more excited and yes, motivated to actually get what you need to do done.
If you don’t have a goal or vision in mind to get something done or to reach for what you want, it’ll definitely be a set back for you.
Ask yourself what’s the reason for your goal or vision?
3. Write down what you want to achieve
With goals being set, you will want to write down what you want to achieve and how you’re going to achieve it.
I know that when I write down my goals or plans, I feel so much more motivated to achieve them.
Writing down what you want to achieve will also help you give you a clear understanding of what you want to do.
3. Get excited about what you’re doing
Get excited about what it is that you need to do. Sure, it may feel a little daunting at first. Once you feel excited to get it done or to accomplish your goal, it’ll make it much more fun.
Try and find the positive side to it. There will generally, always be a positive side to everything. If you can’t find the positive side, keep on looking. You’ll find it.
4. Give yourself a break
At the end of the day, we all deserve a break. If you’re really not feelin’ it give yourself a short break. Collect all of your thoughts and come back to what you need to do.
If you feel like you need an hour to revitalize, give yourself that hour. It doesn’t hurt.
If you need to meet a deadline, perhaps an hour may not cut it. Give yourself 15 minutes to get yourself back together and ready to meet that deadline.
While you’re taking your break, I recommend reading a motivational book to help you stay on track. The book that I 100% recommend is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
Taking a short break won’t hurt and in fact, can help increase your productivity.
5. Give yourself the credit you deserve
Think about all of that hard work you’ve put in. Remember to give yourself the credit that you deserve.
You shouldn’t have to feel like you haven’t accomplished anything at all, cause that’s just not true! You could only be halfway there BUT you’ve already accomplished half of it.
It’s always good to praise yourself for the work that you have already done. Keep on going, you got this!
What are you some ways that have helped you stay motivated?
